Drag Dinner Experience: Dinner With the Queen(s) 1950s Night

Step back into mid-century America for a night of nostalgia, indulgence, and bold personality at Red Tail Ridge Winery. This drag dinner experience on March 28, 2026 at 6:00pm pairs a reimagined 1950s menu with live performances from some of Rochester’s favorite Queens. Expect classic flavors, lively banter, and theatrical moments throughout the evening.

The night begins with a cocktail half-hour designed to set the tone. Guests will enjoy bubbly wine alongside passed hors d’oeuvres inspired by iconic mid-century entertaining. These opening bites invite conversation and connection while easing everyone into the evening’s playful energy.

A Retro-Inspired Dinner and Drag Show at Red Tail Ridge Winery

After the reception, guests will take their seats for the first of three drag performance sets. Each performance brings music, humor, personality, and audience interaction. Between sets, dinner unfolds course by course. Chef Matt Hummel updates classic 1950s dishes with thoughtful modern touches while preserving their nostalgic charm.

The menu opens with passed hors d’oeuvres, including deviled quail eggs with crispy chicken skin, tomato aspic with poached shrimp, and fried Castelvetrano olives with whipped feta. The second course presents a refreshed Waldorf salad. For the main course, guests will enjoy a rich and satisfying short rib Wellington. Dessert closes the evening with a flaming surprise that delivers drama worthy of the final bow.

What’s on the Menu?

This drag dinner experience reflects Red Tail Ridge Winery’s commitment to hospitality, creativity, and memorable food-and-wine moments. Guests should arrive ready to laugh, celebrate, and embrace the unexpected.

While the winters in the Finger Lakes are icy, the warmth of our neighbors keeps us in good spirits. It’s only fitting that we warm everyone up with this spicy 5 course dinner in collaboration with Imelda & Johannes of Kemmeter Wines. While her dumplings are famed, we are excited to see Imelda’s full culinary talents on display. Nancy and Johannes, meanwhile, will each take a course to pair with one of their wines. It’s going to be an evening to remember.

Please note that we can accomodate some food restrictions, but you must be able to handle spicy dishes. We cannot modify the level of heat for this dinner. Please contact us prior to ticket purchase if you have a food restriction.

As the sun sets over the Riesling block ridge at Red Tail Ridge, our celebration of the Day of the Dead with our FLX neighbor and friend, La Monarka will be in full swing! Come in costume for this traditional Dia de los Muertos fiesta. We will have traditional small bites with paired tastes of Red Tail Ridge wine; cellar tours; a costume contest; music; a Piñata contest, and much more. You are invited to celebrate the life and adventures in the Red Tail Ridge vineyard of our late, lovely Bueller. A rescue, Bueller was found chained in the middle of a field. Nancy & Mike adopted him and took on the task of bringing out the steady, calm presence and love of a good head scratch and consistent love that Bueller was famous for. He became one of our mascots because he was always up to meet a new person. He kept our woodchucks in check along with his brother, Tucker.

Not only was he famous at the winery, Bueller had a huge Social Media following. As such as beloved friend, he deserves a great sending off. So, come and join us for a toast and a walk about the pollinator field or by the pond to celebrate his life. Chef Samantha Buyskes will be at the winery, providing a lunch of locally-sourced Burgers and Hot Dogs for $25 per person for those who wish to enjoy. The glass to toast Bueller will be complimentary to all ticket holders.

A great way to kick off Father’s Day weekend is our Wine Dinner with Vesper in Rochester. Executive Chef Neil Fahy and his team are bringing in fresh PEI oysters among other delicious delights to pair perfectly with our wines. Join us as we celebrate Dad, and of course the Rose Soiree weekend with this beautifully crafted menu.
